Odina Stand Up Paddling Hawaii
Alison Teal and Donica Shouse are two amazing team riders for us here at Odina. They have put our eco-friendly surf suits to the test, now that they have found what they regard as the ultimate surf bikini they have traveled the world surfing some of the biggest waves they could find to push the suits to the limits. Here on a day off they took a moment to describe what it is that they love about our suits! It is not just about the fit, or the functionality, but bringing it all together to have the best bikini for surfing! Both living in Hawaii and not always getting a chance to surf they still love to be in the water. Stand Paddling has become their new addiction. Donica has recently started competing on the World tour and is doing quite well. Alison still a true soul surfer, more of an adventure travler uses these days to fill in between swells! Here is a quick little clip of an average day for the Odina team in Hawaii…
Allie sneaks away for a Hawaiian dream trip!

January in Hawaii is probably the most beautiful time of the year for the islands. Aside from the constant 80 degree weather and the warm water, the northwest winter swells and the presence of the humpback whales make being in Hawaii my most desirable destination. I was fortunate enough to fly myself home after graduating from SDSU and the Odina team conveniently was there as well! I flew over with my boyfriend Winfield and we lucked out with perfect waves and weather the entire time we were there!
Aaron set up a photo session with the amazing Sarah Lee who is probably one of the most talented photographers ever. Her shots are unreal!! She got a few sick shots at my home break Banyans, and then we went out to Pine Trees (where I first learned to surf) and she took some great shots of my boyfriend and I, as well as some beautiful shots of Alison!! My trip back to Kona was one of the best I’ve had since moving to California, and I can’t wait to go back! Until my next surf trip, I’ll be freezing in my 4/3 in the cold Cali waters! Aloha!!! -Allie B.

Behind the scenes of Odina eco-friendly swimwear
this is a little behind the scenes look at the Odina surf team. Alison and Filippa are both living in Hawaii and enjoying the warm water and weather…
Underwater Heavens
Recently the Odina team unpacked their bags full of 2012 suits for the year with fun new colors of Yellow, Pink and White. They found a few spots with great waves and some small crowds to dance and enjoy the waves. Allie, Alison and Donica met up with two amazing photographers Sarah Lee and Josh Lambus to have some fun and shoot a couple artist shots. I will let the photos show you the true magic of eco friendly bikinis in an underwater world…
Sharing Waves
Coming across a very interesting article about the surfing population growing, it is apparent that there needs to be more of the classic Aloha Spirit out there…
http://www.theinertia.com/surf/could-crowds-save-our-planet/
more surf enthusiasts sharing the stoke, it doesn’t matter what kind of board you ride, if you body surf, or even if you are just a beach goer… The ocean is playground, from an early age we were taught to share these playgrounds…. If this helps create a more environmentally conscious planet than why not cheer it on… Let us all take a deep breath and remember…. It only takes one wave to make you smile…..
Odina Sails to Marquesas
Recently Mckenzie Clark an adventurer, photographer, and writer met up with Liz Clark sailing through the French Polynesia. Both Liz and she are avid earth and ocean lovers, they are passionate about persevering the environment and creating a positive example about living ecologically minded. Here is a update from Mckenzie and a few photos of her wearing her Eco-friendly Swimwear by Odina.
“Aloha and Kaoha from Marquesas!
I left my home on the Big Island of Hawaii and made it to Nuku Hiva just in time for their Cultural festival celebrated only once every four years. Islanders from all over French Polynesia join together to showcase breathtaking displays of traditional dance, art, tool and jewelry making, tattooing, music and food. In between the amazing festivities I’m enjoying sailing and exploring new and exotic coastlines, free diving and surfing, always rockin my Odina bikinis. Next stop is a small atoll in the South Pacific where I’ll be searching for black pearls, diving with sharks and hopefully finding some waves!”

Odina, California Dreaming!
What a night! Selected from 100 applicants, Odina’s 2012 Spring Collection debuted on the runway at the Viviana, October 20. The evening titled California Dreaming was a fundraiser for Fashion Business, Inc., a non-profit supporting up and coming designers. It was crazy backstage with 44 models for 8 different lines, but out front it was just perfect. Odina debuted Eco Surf Bride, Odin men’s board shorts, the new styles of 2012. The crowd, the press, and of course the celebs made it out for an unbelievable evening. Hope you can make it to the Summer 2012 show early next year!

Odina Supports the JAYO Invitational!
A few weeks back Odina joined the JAYO Invitational to help inner city kids by getting them to the beach and playing some volleyball! Sports can encourage kids to be more active in their community as well as in school.

This event was great, celebrities and past Olympic Medelist came out to support the cause. Sponsoring the Miss California team, we took a few college level volleyball players and made them into eco-friendly Odina volley ball girls! Pushing the bounds of our suits and diving all over the beaches of LA, these suits performed beyond their expectations.

The Girls from Breakfast Burrito Lauren Mayhew and few of the Odina Volleyball girls… Kate a Miss California contestant had this to say about her Odina bikini… “I’ve never been so comfortable in my swimwear. It makes me feel confident, and it’s really cute.” Well they were all looking so cute. Great event, thank you Jason!
Alison travels to the Dead Sea
Alison, checking in here…Just had an amazing adventure in Israel shooting my next film for Alison’s Adventures… Traveling all through Isreal from camel rides through deserts to diving in under water caves in the Dead, Red and the Mediterranean Seas. My Odina suits were with me every step of the way.
I first got teamed up with Israeli surfer pros and went Surfing down the Israel coast near ancient cities and amazing animals!

Never a good sign when someone is fishing at the break…

Nothing like riding arabian horses through the waves!!!

The waves were soooooo flat that I decided to head alllll the way south and do some cave diving near the Egyptian boarder…
My underwater adventure and film was made possible by a local expert named Guy Jakobi and in appreciation I gave him a SWEEEET pair of Kavu shades that even his dog got Jealous of…
My adventure brought me all around Isreal…. you will have to stay tuned for my episode to see how it all unfolded… here is a little sneak peak.

A little paddling beauty…
With 50 marriage proposals, 20 promised camels, and a lot of people wanting to trade gold for my Odina Bikini, I have left Israel with a better understanding of why it is called the holy land –it is truly mind blowing, full of fascinating history, and definitely a land that promises adventure and fun!!! Thank you all and especially to Odina for keeping me cool in style so I didn’t have to stay stuck in a Bedouin burqa forever — hot!!!
